IRGC Claims It Downed U.S. MQ-9 Over Strait of Hormuz

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed its air defenses fired missiles at a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper over the Strait of Hormuz, causing the unmanned aircraft to fall into the Persian Gulf. The Guard did not provide wreckage images, a serial number, its unit or mission, or a precise engagement site. No confirmation from the U.S. military, Pentagon or CENTCOM was available in the verified reports. The claim followed a U.S. strike on two IRGC launchers on Larak Island and Iranian attacks on U.S. facilities in Jordan.
