U.S. Strikes Iranian Tankers After New Missile Attempt on Navy Warship

U.S. forces struck multiple Iranian tankers after further attempted missile attacks on a U.S. Navy warship, according to an American official. Iranian state television reported attacks near Jask and the Kharg Island anchorage, saying two crews off Jask and another crew near Kharg evacuated safely. The IRGC Navy also warned tanker crews near Kuwaiti and Bahraini ports to leave their vessels, accusing both states of assisting U.S. forces and threatening retaliation. Brent crude briefly reached $99.46 as the new maritime attacks deepened risks around the Strait of Hormuz, which carried about one-fifth of global oil before the war.
