Ha'aretz reports that Hamas, through Qatar, conveyed immediately on Oct. 7 that they were willing to return all the civilian hostages for nothing -- their only ask was for a mediator to arrange the exchange and establish a connection to then negotiate the further release of the soldiers. Israel refused to talk or hear about it. So Qatar reached out to Antony Blinken to let him know that Hamas was willing to release all the civilian hostages. Blinken told Qatar he didn't want to hear it because "Israel is still under attack, and there's no one to talk to." Blinken had the opportunity to free every single civilian hostage and de-escalate the situation. Instead he wanted war.

A deportation flight with up to 150 Palestinians is to depart on Thursday, 9/10, according to Doctors Against Genocide, which learned of the flight. The deportees would be faced with the immediate threat of torture and detention without charge. Tareq Zakarneh is expected to be on the flight.
Inflation is a means of rationing. So the U.S. is forcing rationing on the Iranian people, which the Iranian war-time govt would be doing itself if the U.S. wasn’t forcing it. I can’t think of a govt that has ever surrendered a war because it had to ration. The South during the civil war was eating grass but they fought on until their armies were beaten. The U.S. in WWI and II faced rationing at home and plenty of labor unrest but nobody ever suggested surrendering. Just a totally thoughtless policy from Trump.

Okay, so what if a university is not sending money to Israel but not because they're against genocide, they just don't have any products they happen to buy from Israel, don't have a campus there, etc. Is that university still barred from getting federal money? IOW, is it a requirement that you MUST spend money in Israel to get federal money as a university, or are you only in trouble if you kept your money out for moral reasons?

I would imagine Trump won about 95% of LIV Golfers and certainly had the backing of their financier, Saudi Arabia. Trump collected all the Saudi bribes for himself and then went to war with Iran, which has battered Saudi Arabia’s economy, forcing it to cut back on all its idiotic sports spending. So now LIV is filing for bankruptcy and the golfers who are owed millions are being offered just thousands to settle.
