IRGC Claims It Attacked U.S. Unmanned Vessel Near Strait of Hormuz

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed Sunday that its navy attacked a U.S. military unmanned surface vessel near the Strait of Hormuz. The statement said the remotely operated craft was trying to enter an area Iran designates as protected, but it did not give an exact time for the alleged attack. Iran’s state broadcaster carried the claim as IRGC Announcement No. 11 without naming the vessel or reporting damage or casualties. No statement confirming the claim from the U.S. military was found at publication time.
