Vance Says Blocking an Iranian Nuclear Weapon Is a Top U.S. War Aim

Vice President JD Vance said Thursday evening that the administration's first Iran-war goal is keeping oil and gas prices low for Americans, and its second is ensuring Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon. He predicted the conflict would end with the United States stronger, Iran without a nuclear weapon, and the Strait of Hormuz stable enough to keep energy affordable. Vance said Iran remains unpredictable and does not honor commitments. He said Washington would use diplomatic, military and economic tools selectively and strategically as it pursues those aims.
