Danon Says UN Amplifies Hamas Lies About Terrorists as Journalists

Israel's UN Ambassador Danny Danon used a Security Council session to challenge the UN and press-freedom groups over lists that describe Hamas-linked operatives as journalists. Danon held up photos and asked whether the men were journalists or terrorists, saying the UN should not recycle Hamas's claims after Palestinian terror groups themselves identified some of the men as members. JNS, Times of Israel, Ynet and Israel National News all report the same charge and examples. Israel's position is that protecting real journalists must not become cover for terrorist propaganda.
