5,000 Doctors Oppose Israel Medical Boycott Push
More than 5,000 doctors from 46 countries signed a counter-petition urging the World Medical Association to reject an effort to boycott or suspend the Israel Medical Association. The IMA's own notice, Kan, Israel National News, Channel 14 and Hamechadesh report the move answers a Lancet-published campaign by roughly 1,000 medical professionals seeking to isolate Israel. The signatories say medical bodies must remain spaces for scientific and universal cooperation, not tools of political exclusion. Their letter also points to Hamas's role in destroying Gaza's health system and violating the Geneva Convention. Israel's doctors deserve professional solidarity, not BDS pressure dressed as medicine.
