U.S. Welcomes Karim Khan's Removal, Denounces ICC Corruption

The United States welcomed the removal of International Criminal Court prosecutor Karim Khan, calling him an example of corruption at the court. The court's member states voted 82 in favor of dismissal after finding serious misconduct and a serious breach of duty; Khan has denied the sexual-misconduct allegations against him. Washington sanctioned Khan after he pursued arrest warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant. Israeli officials said his ouster strengthens their argument that the warrants were advanced for improper reasons, although the dismissal does not automatically cancel them.
