ICC Member States Dismiss Prosecutor Karim Khan

Member states of the International Criminal Court voted by secret ballot in New York to dismiss chief prosecutor Karim Khan, with 82 of 125 members backing his removal. The vote followed sexual-misconduct allegations involving a former aide, which Khan denies. An Israeli official said the Foreign Ministry had campaigned among ICC members for his removal, while Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar called for the warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant to be revoked. The dismissal does not itself cancel those warrants, which were approved by ICC judges.
