US Envoys in Doha but Qatar Says No Iran Meeting Set

US envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are in Doha to meet Qatari mediators about US-Iran negotiations, but Qatar's foreign ministry spokesman Majed Al Ansari said they are not there to negotiate with Iranian officials. Trump had said Iran requested a Doha meeting, and earlier White House reporting said high-level talks were expected alongside technical work after weekend Strait of Hormuz clashes. Iran's Foreign Ministry said no US-Iran negotiation meeting is scheduled, and Tehran's Qatar delegation is focused on deal terms without US involvement. For Israel, any channel is useful only if it constrains Tehran's nuclear, missile and proxy networks rather than giving the regime time to regroup.
