Qatar Keeps US-Iran Talks Technical, Without Direct Meeting
Qatar's Foreign Ministry said U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met Qatari mediators in Doha to discuss the U.S.-Iran MoU, Lebanon and regional stability, while no high-level or direct U.S.-Iran meeting is currently scheduled. The ministry said technical contacts continue, with Hormuz freedom of navigation, frozen Iranian funds, Iran's nuclear file and Lebanon on the table. Reuters-carried reporting, Times of Israel, JPost and RFE/RL report the same picture after Trump had suggested Tehran wanted a meeting. Israel's interest is clear: diplomacy must not let Tehran rebuild leverage over Hormuz, Hezbollah or its nuclear program while Israeli defenses stay on alert.
