Board of Peace Says UNRWA Has No Place in New Gaza

Israel National News

The U.S.-led Gaza Board of Peace said UNRWA has no place in the new Gaza, responding to a U.S. Mission to the UN appeal that member states fund the Board instead of UNRWA. The statement came as UN officials warned UNRWA faced a funding crisis and needed another $100 million, while the Board said Gaza's people deserve an end to perpetual aid dependency and conflict. The statement fits Israel's long campaign to replace UNRWA with accountable post-Hamas institutions. A Gaza rebuilding plan must serve civilians, not preserve an agency Israel and allies say enabled incitement, terror and diplomatic stagnation.
