Danon Tells UN No Terrorist Deserves Its Protection
Israel's UN ambassador Danny Danon used a General Assembly debate on the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy to mark 1,000 days since Hamas's October 7 massacre and to confront the UN over Hamas penetration of UNRWA. He said Israel had warned for years that terrorists were exploiting UN bodies, and pointed to UNRWA's dismissal of Gaza employees suspected of terror links. Danon urged member states to listen to victims and to Israel's daily fight against terrorism, saying no terrorist deserves a UN badge, paycheck or protection. The message is basic Israeli diplomacy: humanitarian institutions must not shield Hamas, and counterterrorism must protect civilians instead of laundering terror legitimacy.
