Border Police Shooting in Qalandiya Riot Kills 16-Year-Old

Border Police said its Judea and Samaria fighters opened fire during a violent disturbance late July 5 around Qalandiya and Kafr Aqab after suspects threw stones from several rooftops and Molotov cocktails at the force. The official post and Israel Hayom say officers identified one suspect throwing stones from a roof, fired accurately and neutralized him, with no Israeli-force casualties. NST's AFP report, citing the Palestinian Health Ministry, named the dead 16-year-old as Waleed Nidal Waleed Abu Sneineh and said two 14-year-olds were wounded in the lower limbs. Israeli forces must be able to stop life-threatening riots while the chain of command reviews every fatal shooting carefully.
