A same-evening Channel 13 update put IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir's July 5 Beaufort Ridge visit back in the northern-front spotlight. Zamir said Hezbollah, funded and directed by Iran, had spent decades carving underground routes beneath the ridge to threaten northern communities, and that Israeli forces now control key terrain above and below ground. He told the Lebanese army to fulfill the historic agreement by clearing Hezbollah terrorists and infrastructure. Israel will keep removing threats from Lebanon and is ready to shift quickly to attack if the ceasefire is violated.
