Israeli Officials to Visit Washington as Iran Option Stays Open
Current July 6 Israel-time reporting says senior Israeli officials are expected to travel to Washington in the coming days and weeks for high-level consultations as concern grows over the U.S.-Iran negotiation track. Sources familiar with the plans say Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar is expected in about a week and a half for talks with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, while a possible Defense Minister Israel Katz visit and additional senior defense trips are also being discussed. Sa'ar's office confirmed an official invitation but said he has not given final confirmation. Israel should keep diplomacy closely coordinated with Washington while preserving a credible military option if Tehran uses talks to protect its nuclear and proxy network.
