Tzfat Shabbat Bus Protests Pressure Weekend Routes

Israel National News

Current July 6 Israel-time reporting says hundreds of religious residents in Tzfat protested Netiv Express bus service they say desecrates Shabbat, focusing on routes 361 to Haifa, 511 to Kiryat Shmona and 367 to Nahariya. Israel National News says protesters blocked buses, police dispersed the crowd and five demonstrators were arrested, with four released later Saturday night. Emess reported about 400 Haredi demonstrators and said organizers are pressing city and transportation officials to halt the routes. Tzfat should protect respectful access for soldiers and residents while honoring the city's Torah character and resolving the route dispute through lawful, serious talks.
