Yemen Condemns Iran Flight Carrying Houthis to Khamenei Funeral

Current July 6 Israel-time reporting says Yemen's internationally recognized Presidential Leadership Council condemned Iran for operating a direct flight to Houthi-held Sanaa Airport that later carried senior Houthi figures to Ali Khamenei's funeral in Tehran. The official statement, chaired by President Rashad al-Alimi, called the flight a flagrant sovereignty violation and said it showed the Houthis' subordination to Tehran. Reports say the aircraft arrived with passengers and later departed for Tehran with the Houthi delegation; the council urged the UN Security Council and regional partners to deter further violations. Israel should treat the episode as another warning that Iran uses aviation, ports and proxies from Yemen to Lebanon to pressure regional security.
