Police Spokesman Says Force Will Obey Law in Court Clash Question

Israel Police spokesman Aryeh Doron was asked in a public radio interview who the force would obey if a court order clashed with a government or ministerial position during the current High Court standoff. Doron did not explicitly say the force would automatically side with the High Court, and answered that police would obey whoever the law requires them to obey. When pressed to phrase the answer differently, he said there is no law requiring him to answer in the interviewer's preferred words. The exchange lands inside Israel's wider rule-of-law dispute over the Second Authority council, where public servants need clear lawful instructions and disciplined, nonpartisan enforcement.
