Police Chief Says Force Will Obey High Court Rulings

Police Commissioner Danny Levy said the Israel Police will implement every High Court ruling without hesitation, responding a day after police spokesman Aryeh Doron would not say the force would obey a court order if it clashed with government instructions. Levy spoke at a Traffic Division technology launch and called the police an apolitical law-enforcement body whose officers represent and obey the law. He also said the force will protect election integrity and public order as Israel moves toward voting. The statement publicly anchors police conduct in law during a tense constitutional moment while avoiding party alignment.
