Shin Bet Chief Recordings Expose Loyalty and Agenda Remarks
Recordings published Tuesday night from an event earlier in the day showed Shin Bet chief David Zini explaining why he accepted the role, saying he had the ability to be loyal to the elected leadership while also saying he has a worldview and agenda he wants to advance. The reports said Zini described a gap between ministerial instructions and bureaucratic execution, saying implementation can take months. They also said he criticized lawyers and the legal system's influence on decision-making, while calling jurists an auxiliary tool. Several reports said no response from Zini or the Prime Minister's Office had been issued at publication time.
