Rachel Crossing Knife Suspect Wounded and Arrested

Border Police wounded and arrested a Palestinian suspect at Rachel Crossing near Bethlehem after police said he tried overnight to infiltrate Israel through the crossing. The suspect threw stones at security forces when the attempt failed, then drew and waved a knife at Border Police officers sent to the scene. Officers followed arrest procedures and fired at his lower body after he continued to pose a threat. The suspect was transferred for questioning, and the reports said no Israeli officers were hurt.
