Zini Family Finds Nine Teeth in Kfar Aza in Search for Slain Officer's Head

Members of the Zini family found nine teeth and additional bone fragments in the Young Generation neighborhood of Kibbutz Kfar Aza on Wednesday during their search for the head of Reserve Captain Nirel Zini, a Sayeret Givati officer decapitated in his home during the October 7, 2023 Hamas massacre. The kibbutz security coordinator was called to the scene and the remains were sent to the Abu Kabir Institute of Forensic Medicine for DNA identification. A skull fragment recovered from the same neighborhood on June 3 was later identified as a Hamas terrorist's rather than Zini's. His family has spent months combing the rubble alongside the IDF's missing persons unit and Israel Antiquities Authority volunteers to bring all of the 31-year-old officer's remains to a proper Jewish burial.
