Cellcom Maintenance Glitch Triggers False Missile Alerts in Bnei Brak

Some mobile phones in Bnei Brak and other parts of central Israel received a preliminary missile-fire alert labeled 'Emergency Alert: Most Severe' around 10:00 IDT Sunday morning, causing brief panic before the IDF Spokesperson said a technical glitch had triggered it and stressed there was no security incident. The Bnei Brak municipal security and emergency office noted the affected notifications reached Cellcom subscribers, told residents the alert was not real and urged reliance only on Home Front Command updates. The military said the malfunction is under investigation.
