Police Reveal Thwarted Public-Shelter Theft Near Al-Atrash

Israel Police disclosed Sunday that officers thwarted the attempted theft of public shelters at the entrance to the Al-Atrash Bedouin community during the weekend. Ayarot Station officers in the Rotem area responded to a report that shelters were being loaded, found two trucks and stopped the removal. They detained the two drivers, men in their 20s from Kuseife and Rahat, and took them to Ayarot Station for questioning. The shelters are public emergency infrastructure intended to protect residents, while Bedouin communities in the Negev face a serious shortage of accessible protection.
