Lod Bride-to-Be Killed in Highway 6 Street-Race Crash

Aliaa Ali Mnad, 20, of Lod, died early Saturday when three vehicles collided on Highway 6 near the Nitzanei Oz interchange south of Netanya. Eyewitnesses told police the crash occurred during an organized street race, with drivers moving at frightening speed and Mnad thrown from the car into a wadi. She was weeks away from her wedding; her 21-year-old fiance remains in serious condition, a man in his 30s is moderately hurt, and four more suffered light injuries. Sharon-district traffic investigators opened a probe. Road-safety group Or Yarok said Israeli roads have become lawless because drivers know the chance of getting caught is low.
