Bangkok Pub Fire Kills at Least 27; ZAKA Reports No Israeli or Jewish Victims

A fire tore through Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao in northern Bangkok around midnight Monday, killing at least 27 people, according to Thai officials. Many victims were found in restrooms after smoke spread rapidly, and firefighters controlled the blaze in roughly half an hour; investigators have not established the cause. ZAKA's international division said it was coordinating with Bangkok's Jewish community and Israel's Foreign Ministry and that no Israeli or Jewish victims were known at publication time. Other reports placed the provisional toll at 30, while Thai officials and initial accounts cited at least 27.
