Additional U.S. Iran Strike Wave Begins One Hour Before Blockade Resumes

U.S. Central Command said American forces began an additional round of strikes against Iran at 3 p.m. Eastern time Tuesday, 10 p.m. in Israel. It said the operation was intended to degrade Iranian capabilities used to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The new wave began about an hour before the United States was due to resume its naval blockade of vessels entering or leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas at 4 p.m. Eastern, 11 p.m. in Israel.
