Cyber Directorate Warns of GOV.IL Payment-Phishing Messages

Israel's National Cyber Directorate and National Digital Agency warned that fraudulent SMS messages requesting payment and carrying a malicious link are appearing inside existing GOV.IL message threads on some phones. The agencies said attackers are exploiting how certain devices display text messages, and that GOV.IL systems were not breached. The Cyber Directorate said it is working to address the malicious link. Recipients were advised not to open it or enter personal or credit-card details, to make payments only by navigating directly to official websites or the personal area, and to report suspicious messages to hotline 119.
