Government Approves Seven Centers for Adult Sexual-Offense Victims

Israel's government approved seven dedicated centers for adult sexual-offense victims, one in each police district. The centers will combine police investigators, social workers, doctors and legal-support professionals under one roof, offering emotional guidance, complaint filing, medical and forensic referrals, and support through criminal proceedings. National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Welfare Minister Haim Katz advanced the plan to implement recommendations from the 2019 Berliner Committee, with the National Security Ministry responsible for funding. More than 50,000 approaches reach assistance centers annually while police open about 6,500 sexual-offense cases; the government did not set an opening date.
