Israel's Democrats Close Primary Roll With 112,376 Members

Israel's Democrats party closed its voter roll with 112,376 members eligible to take part in its July 20 primary for the Knesset list. Fifty-one candidates will compete for places on the slate, with voting conducted digitally by phone or computer and at designated voting centers. The party said the membership total is its highest since the 1990s and expects strong participation in the internal election. Its list rules provide for alternating gender representation and designated representation for rural areas, the geographic periphery, Druze and Arab communities, and the LGBT community.
