IDF Soldier Gets Five Years for Contact With Iranian Agent

An Israeli military court sentenced a regular-service IDF soldier to five years in prison after he admitted contact with a foreign agent and transmitting information potentially useful to the enemy. During 2025, the soldier sent an Iranian agent two videos of missile interceptions that he filmed in civilian areas during Operation Rising Lion and received payment for one. He later told his unit about the contact and was arrested by the Shin Bet the next day. The court also imposed a suspended sentence, a NIS 1,000 fine and demotion to private, noting he had not passed military information obtained through his role.
