Iran Activates Air Defenses Near Bushehr Nuclear Plant

Iranian media reported shortly after midnight Wednesday that air-defense systems were activated around the Bushehr nuclear power plant in southern Iran. No official explanation was issued for the activation, and the reports did not establish that the plant had been struck. They also contained no confirmed damage, casualties or radiological incident at the facility. The initial accounts did not identify an incoming aircraft, missile or drone, did not say whether the defenses fired, and did not report any change in the plant's operating status.
