Iran Says Renewed U.S. Blockade Dismantles Islamabad Memorandum

Iran's deputy foreign minister said the renewed U.S. naval blockade of Iranian ports had dismantled the Islamabad memorandum that paused hostilities for peace talks. Kazem Gharibabadi said the blockade contradicted a central American obligation under the agreement. Iran's Foreign Ministry separately said Tehran would not fulfill parts of the memorandum while Washington failed to meet its commitments, describing the pact as being in a crisis phase. President Donald Trump has said Iran breached the agreement first as attacks on commercial shipping and regional states resumed.
