U.S. Resumes Iran Naval Blockade as 20-Plus Warships, Hundreds of Aircraft Operate

U.S. forces resumed a naval blockade of vessels traveling to and from Iranian ports and coastal areas at 4 p.m. Eastern time Tuesday, 11 p.m. in Israel, U.S. Central Command said. CENTCOM said more than 20 U.S. Navy warships and hundreds of military aircraft were operating across the Middle East. The command said American forces remained vigilant and ready for action. The renewed blockade targets Iran-linked maritime traffic while the Strait of Hormuz remains open for vessels traveling to non-Iranian destinations amid renewed Iranian attacks on commercial shipping.
