Iran Claims Strike on U.S. Command Center at Syria's al-Tanf

Iran's Revolutionary Guards claimed that the eleventh wave of Operation Nasr 2 struck what it called a U.S. special-operations command center in al-Tanf, near Syria's borders with Jordan and Iraq. The IRGC said the attack retaliated for Iranian soldiers killed in U.S. strikes at Iranshahr. The United States has not confirmed the attack or reported casualties, and the Iranian account could not be independently verified. U.S. forces formally left al-Tanf in February and transferred the garrison to Syrian authorities, leaving the target described by Tehran unclear. Iran also repeated its claim of full control over the Strait of Hormuz while U.S. strikes continued.
