Bahrain Says Air Defenses Intercepted Latest Iranian Attack

Helmeted air-defense soldiers gathered beside a senior officer and Patriot system equipment at a military site in Bahrain

Bahrain's state television said the kingdom's air-defense systems intercepted the latest Iranian attack after warning sirens sent residents toward shelter earlier Sunday. The report followed an Interior Ministry notice at 11:16 a.m. Israel time telling citizens and residents to remain calm, move to the nearest safe place and follow official channels. The earlier official notice did not identify the incoming threat, while the later television report said only that air-defense systems had intercepted the Iranian attack. Neither notice specified the number or type of threats, their targets, interception locations, or whether debris caused damage or casualties.
