Lebanese Soldier Killed, Two Wounded in Al-Mansouri Blast

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of a badly damaged Lebanese Army truck in rocky wooded terrain, with a stretcher beside it.

The Lebanese Army said one soldier was killed and an officer and another soldier were wounded when a suspicious object exploded against an army vehicle during a mission in al-Mansouri in the Tyre District. Specialist units opened an investigation to determine the object's nature and the circumstances. An earlier Hebrew report described the incident as an ammunition explosion and said initial Lebanese media accounts had treated it as a bomb striking the soldiers' vehicle. The Army did not attribute the blast to Israel or Hezbollah, name the casualties, disclose their conditions, or identify the object.
