Israel Nears Beaufort Tunnel Decision as Hezbollah-Site Demolitions Advance

Israel is expected to decide soon how to handle Hezbollah tunnels at the Beaufort and Ali Taher ridges in southern Lebanon. The Lebanese government also wants the underground refuge cities and Hezbollah's above-ground infrastructure destroyed. Current assessments say the IDF will demolish hundreds more structures by month's end, bringing destruction to nearly all buildings identified as Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure between the border and the yellow line. Those Hezbollah-use sites are estimated to represent about 70% of all buildings in that area; the official IDF account says the campaign is meant to remove threats to northern Israeli communities and strengthen operational control.
