UN Criticizes IDF Demolitions as Israel Targets Hezbollah Tunnels

The United Nations said the scale of detonations and demolitions in southern Lebanon was deeply concerning, citing damage to civilian infrastructure, cultural heritage and community memory. The warning followed overnight blasts near Beaufort Castle, which was added last week to UNESCO's List of World Heritage in Danger. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said the IDF used about 700 tonnes of explosives to destroy Hezbollah terror tunnels in the Beaufort area. The IDF has said the Iranian-funded network served as a central Hezbollah hub, offered operational control toward the Galilee Panhandle and was built to support attacks on Israeli troops and civilians.
