Jordanian Officials Deny U.S. Embassy Aqaba Evacuation Claim

Jordanian Government Communications Minister Mohammad al-Momani said authorities issued no order to evacuate King Hussein International Airport or Aqaba's seaport, rejecting an earlier U.S. Embassy alert that said both had been evacuated because of a specific, credible threat. The Jordanian government said both facilities were operating normally. Official sources said air and maritime traffic remained stable, while al-Momani said authorities had recorded no potential threats in the preceding hours. He added that Jordanian agencies would issue immediate warnings if a risk emerged.
