MDA Says 27 Have Died Among 149 Drowning Cases This Bathing Season

Magen David Adom data show that its teams have treated 149 people in drowning incidents since Israel's bathing season began. The cases occurred at Mediterranean and Eilat beaches, pools, lakes and reservoirs across the country. Twenty-seven people have died, up from 22 on Thursday after five deaths over the weekend; four patients were critical, 11 serious, 10 moderate and 97 mild. The fatality count includes patients who reached hospitals in critical condition after drowning and whose deaths were reported in recent days.
