An IDF account released Monday morning said troops entered Deir Jarir near Ramallah to prevent friction and evacuate Israeli civilians retrieving livestock identified as theirs. The military said a violent riot developed, terrorists threw stones and concrete blocks, and two security personnel were injured and treated at the scene. Troops used live fire to remove the threat and identified hits. The Palestinian Health Ministry said Ahmed Adel Rashid Abu Mukh, 26, and Odeh Abdel Rahim Odeh Farakhneh, reported as 53, were killed by IDF fire; a contemporaneous report gave Farakhneh's age as 52.
