Gulf States Press U.S. to Keep Israel Out of Renewed Iran Strikes

Gulf Arab states are pressing the United States to prevent Israel from resuming strikes in Iran, according to Arab officials involved in the discussions. They fear Israeli entry could trigger Iranian attacks on Gulf energy infrastructure, complicate regional mediation and make it politically harder for Arab governments to cooperate with Washington. Israel says it has no immediate intention of joining the renewed U.S.-Iran fighting, while remaining prepared to act if attacked or asked to assist. A U.S. official said Washington continues close coordination with Israel and Gulf allies as the conflict and Strait of Hormuz crisis continue.
