Smotrich Says Israel Has No Current Interest in Joining Iran Campaign
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said Tuesday that Israel currently has no interest in joining the renewed U.S.-Iran campaign because the fighting weakens Tehran's regime and serves Israeli objectives. Speaking at the Katif Conference for National Responsibility, he said Israel's overarching goal is to undermine and weaken the Iranian regime, and that the present situation is good for Israel. Smotrich added that Israel remains prepared for every scenario. He warned that if Iran fires at Israel, it would face a very powerful response, saying the IDF has demonstrated exceptional capabilities and could act once the political echelon decides.
