Jerusalem Sets Tisha B'Av Security and Traffic Plan for Western Wall Prayers
Israel Police completed preparations for Tisha B'Av in Jerusalem, with hundreds of officers, Border Police personnel and volunteers set to deploy around the Old City, Western Wall and other holy sites. Overt, covert and special units will support public safety and traffic direction as worshippers arrive for Eichah readings and kinot. Roads along the evening march route from Independence Park toward the Dung Gate will close progressively from 8:30 p.m., with further closures Thursday for morning prayers and the fast's conclusion. Public transportation to the Western Wall will operate normally.
