Israel Police said the Border Police's West Bank commander, Niso Guetta, held a situational assessment after the funeral of Havat Gilad security coordinator Benayahu Melet. Border Police and IDF commanders ordered a broad weekend deployment across the division's sector, focused on preventing friction and public disorder while conducting offensive counterterrorism activity and arrests. All Border Police battalions in Judea and Samaria will take part alongside regional units, undercover officers, bomb-disposal specialists, Matilan tactical forces, and investigators. Police said the deployment will operate jointly with the IDF, Israel Police and Shin Bet to thwart terrorism and protect the public.
