The IDF identified Maj. Yuval Ezra, 27, of Herzliya, as one of two soldiers killed during operational activity near the village of Tell in the Samaria Brigade sector. Ezra commanded a battery in the 411th Battalion of the 282nd Artillery Brigade. Reports said he was critically wounded after a Palestinian seized a rifle from regional-defense soldier Benayahu Mellet and opened fire on the Israelis, and Ichilov Hospital later pronounced Ezra dead. Mellet, 32, was also killed, and the IDF said both families had been notified.
