Iranian Commander Threatens One U.S. Troop Death for Every Iranian Killed

Maj. Gen. Ali Abdollahi, commander of Iran's Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, said Iran would kill one American service member for every Iranian killed. In a social-media message, he called the threat a fixed and declared rule of the battlefield and told U.S. forces that Iran had prepared free, direct tickets to hell. The statement came during renewed U.S.-Iran fighting, as American forces continued strikes on Iranian military targets following Iranian attacks that killed U.S. service members in Jordan and Iraq. The remarks set out a retaliatory threat; they did not announce a new attack.
