Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said Friday after learning that Benayahu Mellet was killed in the Havat Gilad attack that Israel should cancel the Oslo Accords and continue building communities in Judea and Samaria. Smotrich offered condolences to Mellet's family and described the commitment as carrying forward his legacy. The IDF said Palestinian attackers stole a security coordinator's rifle and fired at Israeli civilians near the village of Tell. Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir later ordered broad reinforcements to strengthen security in the area and capture everyone involved.
